Infection control

Infection prevention and control is a high priority for us. We are committed to delivering the highest standards across all our sites to help prevent any avoidable infections.

Cases of both MRSA blood stream infections and clostridium difficile (C.diff.) have fallen in recent years and we aim to maintain this downward trend by encouraging staff, patients and visitors to work together.

Hand hygiene

Hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of all infections. We encourage our staff, patients and visitors to do this by either washing hands with soap and water, or using the alcohol gel available at the entrances to wards or at the end of every patient’s bed. See our help us prevent infection page for more information on this and other ways to help keep our patients and staff safe.
